Giving Back

The Avalution Team not only believes in giving back to our industry but also to the communities in which we live. Take a look below to see a couple of the projects our team has been involved with over the past year.

United Way Pancake Flip
Avalution employees attended the Greater Cleveland United Way Pancake Flip in Public Square. We ate some yummy pancakes and supported the United Way. United Way of Greater Cleveland makes a difference in the lives of more than 400,000 people throughout Greater Cleveland each year. They sponsor over 150 agencies that are making a difference in our community, including the local chapters of the American Red Cross, Boys and Girls Clubs, Goodwill and local organizations like the Free Medical Clinic of Greater Cleveland and local shelters.

"The Greater Cleveland United Way is a great cause. They support so many organizations in our area and who can beat pancakes in Public Square!"

- Andy Dixon, IT Consultant

Twilight at the Zoo
Every year, the Cleveland Metro Parks Zoo holds the Twilight at the Zoo event. This is the Zoo's biggest fundraiser of the year, raising money for our nationally recognized top tier zoo that strives to engage the widest possible audience and build conservation awareness, locally and globally. It's an evening of food, drinks, music and entertainment. This year, Avalution sponsored employees that wanted to attend the event and support the Cleveland Metro Parks Zoo.

"Twilight at the Zoo was a great event! We really enjoyed all of the food and music
and it was great to be able to support the efforts of our amazing zoo."

- Robert Giffin, Director

Cleveland Foodbank Food Drive
Avalution collected donations during the entire second quarter for the Cleveland Foodbank. Every Friday, employees are encouraged to bring in non-persihable items to donate in exchange for dressing casual. We are enjoying the casual Fridays and helping out our community.

"Collecting for the Cleveland Foodbank was a great way to give back to our local community."

- Courtney Bowers, Marketing/Promotions

Junior Achievement Bowl A Thon
In February of 2009, Avalution sponsored a team at the JA Bowl A Thon, rasing almost $400 for the event. The Bowl A Thon is a major fundraiser for the Greater Cleveland Junior Achievement chapter. JA is dedicated to educating young people about business, economics and personal finances. JA students demonstrate a significant understanding of economics and business knowledge and an enhanced desire to stay in school and pursue a career in business.

"JA is a great program that I remember as a student.
They made economics and business seem interesting and encouraged us to learn more about opportunities in those areas."

- Jacque Rupert, Consultant

Edun Live
Edun Live is a socially conscious t-shirt distribution company that Avalution was introduced to by one of its summer interns. The organization has partnered with Miami University to distribute shirts to the college market.  Avalution purchased their 2008 company t-shirts from Edun Live and will continue to support the organization in upcoming years. Learn more about Edun Live and the activities on Miami's campus.

"I wear my Edun t-shirt with pride, knowing that I am helping to make a difference.
I tell everyone I can about the organization, hoping that they too will be inspired."

- Susan Giffin, Managing Consultant

Casual for a Cause
Avalution employees have the opportunity to dress casual while in the office on Fridays. All we ask is that they make
a small donation to the Casual for a Cause fund every time they choose jeans and a t-shirt over their typical business
casual. At points throughout the year, the fund is donated to a charity or used to sponsor some of our other volunteer
activities.

Continuity Cares
In the spring of 2008, Avalution continued its support of Continuity Cares by sending three members of the Avalution Team, along with 20 other volunteers from the Continuity Insights Management Conference, to work with Rebuilding Together New Orleans at the home of an elderly, disabled resident. During the time spent on-site, the group worked to tear down walls and remove debris to prepare the home for restoration.

"Continuity Cares is a truly rewarding experience. Giving to a community with such dramatic needs is so
important. And it’s wonderful to see our industry, under Continuity Insights' leadership, take on such a role."

                                                                                        -  Brian Zawada, Director of Consulting Services
