In the immediate event of a disaster, your organization must account for all personnel in order to direct first responders to assist in rescuing those stranded, trapped or injured.

 

Crisis Management Plan

Crisis Management Plans summarize response procedures necessary to appropriately respond to an event in order to protect the organization’s interests. These plans allow the Crisis Management Team to respond to the crisis in an orderly, timely manner.   

Crisis Management Team

The Crisis Management Team is a group of management-level employees designated to carry out the procedures documented in the crisis management plan, with a focus on coordinating the organization’s response efforts.

 

Damage Assessment Team

The Damage Assessment Team is a predetermined group of subject matter experts who are called upon at the time of an incident to assess the safety of a facility and its contents and to give advice/recommendations regarding the potential / timing for building re-entry.

 

Emergency Operations Center

An EOC is often a predetermined location (or multiple locations from which one can be chosen based on the scope of the crisis) where the Crisis Management Team will convene in the event of an emergency to coordinate recovery strategies.  Sometimes called a crisis command center, a number of organizations consider an EOC a location and a team that is charged with executing the Crisis Management Team’s decisions by allocating resources and information to the most important areas of the organization.

 

Emergency Response Plans

Emergency Response Plans focus on ensuring personnel safety, including evacuation procedures, accountability of personnel, shelter-in-place procedures, and other related activities.
