In response to demand for a more definitive and consistent route to business continuity management (BCM) education and certification, the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) developed an entry level training course based on the BCM life cycle, as defined by the BCI's Good Practice Guidelines (GPG).

These classes will not only aid attendees in establishing a solid BCM knowledge base, but also position attendees to successfully pass the BCI Certificate Examination, which is a component of the AMBCI, SBCI and MBCI certifications. The three-day course addresses the following six elements of the GPG:

Management Practices

  1. Policy & Program Management
  2. Embedding BCM in the Organization’s Culture

Technical Practices

  1. Understanding the Organization
  2. Determining BCM Strategy
  3. Developing and Implementing a BCM response
  4. Exercising, Maintaining and Reviewing
